The Sailor Song

<br>As she lay across her bed that lonely night<br>The pictures of her life went passing by<br>When the lightning brightened up her darkened room<br>Her tears like falling rain came pouring down<br>Only he who`d put her here was on her mind<br>Though she loved him more than life, he did not care<br>She had put all of her love into him, then he went away<br>Now, she laid with folded hands, prepared to die<br>Oh what a fool was she to give him love<br>A sailor boy was he<br>He coldly stole her heart<br>And he carried it to sea<br>And now he`s gone and as she lay alone to breathe her last in sin<br>That sailor never thought of her again
